The name Jeppeson2001 may not ring a bell, but you may already have seen this developer’s work as he has collaborated with several companies. If you have //42’s Camp Crystal Lake, you have seen some of his work there.
More recently, Jeppeson2001 has been working on a new package as a solo venture: Victoria Falls, in Zimbabwe, for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
The new package will feature:
- Victoria Falls, animated with sounds
- 4 bush strips
- 6 heliports with multiple starting spots
- 30 landable helipads in total.
- Additional remote helipads along the Zambezi River
- Victoria Falls Bridge with an animated bungee jumper
- Animated speed Boat, Raft, & Cable Car
- Animated rapids along a 23 mile stretch of the Batoka Gorge (Zambezi river)
- Fully Terraformed river base and custom rapids textures.
As a “fun fact”, Jeppeson2001 told us that 2 of the Heliports (Masuwe and Chikopokopo) are probably the closest separate heliports in the world, being on the other side of a dirt track from each other.
You can see the difference between the default scenery and this package in the two images below. Quite impressive.
As you can see in the video above, the new package seems very alive and a fun place to visit. I have to say I was very surprised to see a bungee jumper actually… Jumping!
Victoria Falls Scenery Package for Microsoft Flight Simulator should be released before the end of the year.
