Airland / RotorSimPilot R44 for Microsoft Flight Simulator

A little over a year ago, RotorSimPilot released a free R44 for MSFS, which relied on AirlandFS for the flight dynamics since the sim didn’t support helicopters yet.

Meanwhile, RotorSimPilot had to focus on real life and his job, and Fred Naar, through his company Airland (not the new sim, mind you), picked up the project.

A new version is now available, bringing the freeware R44 to a new stage where native flight dynamics are being used. This is a cooperative effort by Airland Studios, HCG, and the RotorSimPilot Community.

The team indicates that “this is a free community product, and cannot be compared to payware helicopters for quality and time invested in it”. That’s pretty standard when it comes to freeware products, and we should be thankful these folks put their time into making these at all.

We can also help the project out by providing proper, constructive feedback to the developers and hope they have the time to look into it.

You can get the new R44 at the Flightsim.to website. Go grab it!
