VRSimSolutions Flight Simulator Leg Mouse for VR

If you are a VR user, you most certainly have faced the challenge of using your mouse. This is especially important – and annoying – if you use it to access buttons, switches, and dials in the virtual cockpit.

There are several solutions out there, which include sitting near a table or having a chair with a small side support/table, among many other, often creative, ways to tackle the problem.

VRSimSolutions came out with a… solution (oh! Hence the name!) for this, by developing a small piece of hardware that almost acts like a kneeboard and allows you to attach a mouse to your leg.

Well, not exactly a mouse, but a trackball.

In case you are unaware of what a trackball is, it’s pretty much an upside-down mouse, if mice still used balls.

The hardware itself stays in place instead of being moved around and we control a big ball on top of it. This way, we can control the computer cursor. The trackball VRSimSolutions use is the Logitech MX Ergo Wireless Trackball.

As the name indicates, the Logitech MX Ergo is a wireless unit with 2 buttons (like regular mice do), a scroll wheel, and a few other buttons with several functions.

The trackball attaches to VRSimSolutions’ base, which you strap around your leg, staying in position and being easily accessible.

Looks quite a very interesting solution indeed.

You can find the VRSimSolutions Flight Simulator Leg Mouse for VR on their website for 120 Euros (or the equivalent in your country/region) and it comes with everything you need – including the trackball!
