The Alouette III serviced the Portuguese Air Force for 57 years and it was one of the first – if not the first – helicopter I’ve ever seen in real life.
The nimble little helicopter may be somewhat of an acquired taste regarding its design, but one thing is for sure: the view from the inside is amazing.
Taog’s Hangar released this model for Microsoft Flight Simulator, with some help from the Portuguese Air Museum (Museu do Ar) that allowed the cockpit sounds to be recorded in one of their helicopters.
