Last year's event, the first time at the HARS Museum saw an exclusive early preview of Heatblur’s now released F-14 TomCat, displays from FSElite, VATSIM & IVAO, several full scale simulators, the 62nd Fighting Falcons (a DCS Squadron) who flew several missions over the weekend and introduced many to the combat sim and, not least of all, the Royal Australian Navy and their HeliMOD MkIII units who garnered a LOT of attention (who knew Helicopters could be so interesting?).

Speakers were varied as well including a couple of Youtube personalities, JP “The Candourist” and Stefan Dury, talking about their experiences in aviation.

The venue for this years expo, and indeed for all expos going forward, is the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society Museum based at the Illawarra Regional Airport (YWOL). Last years events was held under the wings of one of the last flying Lockheed Constellations in the world! There were also several other static displays in the exhibition area for attendees to sit in, admire and discuss with Museum Staff.

Tours of the museum were very popular with the highlight being the tour of their B747, VH-OJA who has quite a storied past in Australian aviation.

Sponsorship for the Expo has several tiers from advertising opportunities to full exhibitor space and product showcasing. Special sponsorship for the Expo Dinner, AV Equipment, Aviation Bloggers and the Expo MC are also available.

OZ Flight Sim Expo 2018

I’m really looking forward to this event as it is the only one of it’s kind in Australia, the venue is spectacular and the people make the event. Being able to get together with other like minded folks, geek out about aviation and share our love for flight simulation in all its forms, is a great time and I’m looking forward to seeing lots of new exhibitors as well as past ones at this year's event.
