One of the things I’ve been wanting to do for a long time was to provide all our Patreon supporters with the ability to browse our website without any ads. This includes the $2/month tier!
“Wait a second!”, I can hear you say, “So why don’t you make the website ad-free for everyone?”.
Fair question. But the truth is that, even if ads don’t pay that much, the little money that brings makes a difference. After the government takes about 50% in taxes, that is.
But it’s also this low per-visitor ratio that allows me to provide this perk to our Patreon members.
As Patreon added some new features to their API, it’s now possible to get some more data about our members, cross-reference them with our website users, and provide our supporters with the ability to browse our website without any ads.

By the way, the Fourthwall members were not forgotten. We are also waiting for the company to provide us with similar API changes so we can offer the same. Fourthwall indicates that should be possible soon™(-ish?).
