Back in April 2022, Marc Morand decided to buy the MSK Alouette III 3D model and bring it to X-Plane. The model didn’t give Marc the advantage he was hoping for, and he still have to redo most of the helicopter. Thankfully, he wasn’t discouraged by it.
One of the guys from HSF has started helping Marc, by providing photos and, eventually, was able to lend a hand on other areas, such as animating parts of the model.
A lot of equipment is being added to the Alouette III by Marc and the virtual counterpart of this respectable helicopter can already be used with two types of winches, two types of baskets, slings, mirrors, and search light, for example.
Four interiors are planned: clean, mountain rescue, transport with removable back seat and VIP.
And that’s not all. Marc is also working on 2 type of engines, but he says he is not planning on adding any real power changes but merely visual changes. This means we will be able to see the model with the Artouste IIIB and Astazou XIV.
There is no release date at the time, and he is considering releasing it as free/donationware. As he says, he wishes to give back to the community.
