Nemeth Designs Hiller UH-12B for MSFS2020

Nemeth Designs is back with a new helicopter. The team is responsible for the Bell 407, which was one of the default helicopters in MSFS 2020. They are not, though, behind the development of the 407 for MSFS 2024; that one is based on the 2020 version, but it was developed by Asobo.

Just like the S300 CBi that the team released previously, the Hiller UH-12B is another small, simple, steam gauge helicopter that requires the pilot to actually fly it. Which is exactly the kind of helicopter I love to fly.

Nemeth Designs let me know about the project but didn’t say a lot about it. I don’t think there’s a huge deal to say about it, though, considering how simple of a helicopter the UH-12B is. We should expect something nice, though, considering the team’s work and the aforementioned S300CBi.

Right now, there is no estimated date for the release, but Nemeth Designs says it’s not that far off.

We need to address the elephant in the room, of course. Why MSFS2020 and not MSFS2024? Well, developers have been having a hard time with MSFS2024. A lot has changed, and Microsoft has closed the aircraft behind an encrypted file system. This means developers can’t look at how the default aircraft were made, so they can’t learn the new stuff by following examples. And it’s not just happening with Nemeth Designs, of course.

The team says they are working on getting their products into MSFS2024. It will just take a bit longer.
