Only a few days ago we were surprised with a new company entering the market: Meridian GMT.
The new company, which was founded by former Honeycomb founder and CEO, Nicki Repenning, unveiled a bit of what’s coming at FSWeekend.
One of the products shown is a game controller (yes, yes, I said the “G” word) for both the PC and the Xbox. One of the versions shown is being made for helicopters. You can see that image below.
I sat down with Nicki a couple of days ago and he showed me that product along with a series of plans for future products. I can’t talk about yet but one of those products was the controller.
Nicki understands the needs of helicopter pilots. He also knows a game controller is not ideal, mind you. This is just an option for those that don’t want to spend a lot of money or can’t use a full-fledged dedicated helicopter control set.
I haven’t tried the controller yet, but I was quite excited – even impressed with what we talked. Of course, I’ll want to take a look at the hardware to be able to have an opinion on it. But I’ll tell you this: if Nicki manages to deliver his vision, I think we will have quite interesting products coming our way. And helicopter pilots are to be included.
