Hardware manufacturer K-51 has been quite busy. The man behind the low-cost collective and the low-cost damper system for VIRPIL pedals sent us a few photos of the collective line of products, with 3 different models.
The models are quite interesting, with different layouts, of course, one of them being quite similar to an Apache collective.
But K-51 told us that there’s more than just meets the eye. Meaning there are more changes than just the new layouts.
According to him, the base of the collective now contains less metal, making it lighter and it’s now completely closed. The angle of the collective rotation was reduced to 48 degrees and the electronics are different as well. Instead of VIRPIL electronics, K-51 is now using an Arduino controller with MMJoy2.
All the models have throttle axes equipped with digital TLE sensors. The hats are now also push able, meaning that they now have 5 functions instead of 4.
The mechanisms are still metal, though, so don’t worry about any loss of quality there.
