Sometimes, companies have to get… imaginative with the names of their products. Licensing or copyright infringement is a thing so we can see things such as a partial name. Or something completely made up.
Such as the iniBuilds KwikFlight Hunter.
Let’s face it: it’s an AH-64 Apache.
iniBuilds is developing another helicopter for MSFS — this time, a military one, which they call “the most action-packed attack helicopter ever built for Microsoft Flight Simulator”.
The list of features is quite interesting:
- Built from the ground up for MSFS
- Accessible for all skill levels
- Packed with custom weapons & mission systems
- Featuring an authentic sound set
- Exclusive to the iniBuilds Store & Microsoft Marketplace
The “packed with custom weapons & mission systems” part is quite interesting. I am not sure what iniBuilds means by that and it’s even more interesting that the company indicates that it will be “exclusive to the iniBuilds Store & Microsoft Marketplace”.
And yes, iniBuilds confirms there will be functional weapons — but only in the version available through their own store.
Here’s the available payload:
- Cannon (GUN): Choose from controlled bursts of 10, 20, 50, or 100 rounds — or unleash your full payload. Each hit causes 1% damage per bullet, allowing precise or overwhelming firepower as needed.
- Missiles (MSL): Launch up to 8 Hellfire missiles with precision targeting. These guided munitions hit with devastating 50% impact damage if a target is locked.
- Rockets (RKT): Equipped with 36 Hydra rockets, the Hunter delivers rapid-response firepower at over 2.5 Mach, each rocket dealing 20% damage per hit.
While visiting their forums, we can find more information on the features of this bird:
- Custom cockpit and external lighting
- Dimmable custom cockpit flood and integral lighting
- Switch between white and red exterior strobe effect
- Dimmable navigation lights
- Flight control stability system and autopilot
- This system takes advantage of reading and writing to multiple aircraft variables in real-time to provide pitch stability and auto hover mode so you can focus on the mission
- Engine and avionics damage modeling during mission situations
- Fuel management system
- Auto tank transfer to keep the helicopter in balance
- Manual tank balancing in the event of system failures
- Communications suite including custom mission interactions
- Fully function coms on VHF1 and 2
- Simulated IDM (Improved Data Modem) for mission management
iniBuilds has developed a fully integrated IHADSS (Integrated Helmet and Display Sight System), which will offer the virtual pilots “next-level situational awareness straight to your helmet”.
Sound design is being handled by Echo 19 Audio Production, so we can expect something of great quality as well.
Of course, MSFS isn’t a combat sim — but iniBuilds seems determined to push boundaries with their custom mission and damage systems.
iniBuilds didn’t indicate a date for the release but they state that it should be available “soon”.
