I won’t go into the full story and into a lot of details, I promise. I will be brief but there is something that I need to address.

January 16th, 2016 marked the beginning of HeliSimmer.com. Publicly, at least. The first version of the website – in Wordpress back then – was released. It was the result of a few months of work to get the website running with some content, but it was an idea that I had years before that.

I’ve been posting news regularly. Articles, reviews, tutorials, etc. But recently, you probably saw that the rhythm has reduced drastically. In fact, the news posted before this article went live on January 4th. Almost 2 weeks ago. And, before that, the gap was even bigger, with a news published on December 14th.

I don’t think a lot of people noticed it, but I want to address this.

Back on December 16th I had to have surgery. I won’t go into any details, don’t worry. It’s not my goal to provide you with a health report. But the situation was (and still is) serious. I am recovering from it and things have been fine, but I am not out of the woods yet.

Physically, I think the biggest impact was left behind. There are some problems that are normal with the surgery I had to have that will take me perhaps up to a year or more to fully recover. This may prevent me from travelling during the next months. I am not sure, yet.

I’ve been away from computers for 3 weeks after surgery so as not to stress my body. I used my phone, which allowed me to be on Facebook and say hi to you all but that was pretty much it. I watched more TV in those 3 weeks than I probably did the previous 3 years (I’m not a TV guy).

I started working again last week.

I have articles to write for HeliSimmer.com, yes. I want to cover a great tool, I have a Moza base/joystick to review (courtesy of Moza, to whom I want to say “thank you” and apologize again for the delay) and there is a feature coming to HeliSimmer.com that will allow me to provide something nice for our supporters/backers.

That will come. I still need to recover the lost 3 weeks, get my regular work straight and get physically better as I still need to be careful when moving. Taking photos of products does require me to move a bit to set up the shooting area, etc. And I also need to get my mindset straight again.

So, as we reach 9 years of the life of HeliSimmer.com, things are a bit touch-and-go for me (no pun intended) but I will continue push forth and do my work with and for the community and developers.

Here’s to another year!
