A few weeks ago, we told you about the LHA-1 Tarawa that is being developed for X-Plane by a community member. If that got you excited and you would like to give it a try, you now can.
Do keep in mind that the Tarawa is still very heavy into development and there are a lot of unfinished things, such as textures, for example. But you can already try quite a few amazing features.
In the readme.txt file included you will have a list of items you can control:
- Non tactical lights
- Hover Position Indicator (HPI) arrayDatum lights
- Optical Landing System (OLS) bar
- SGSI array 1 (port abeam side)
- SGSI array 2 (starboard abeam side)
- Tactical Green Deck lights bright/dim toggle
- remove crafts on deck (this clears the deck of all aircraft but elevator's)
Do notice that the LHA-1 replaces the X-Plane default carrier. Unfortunately, there is no way to add landable carriers to the sim.
So, do make sure you read the instructions on how to install the carrier, so everything goes smoothly. And, please, don’t forget to provide the author with your feedback so he can carry on doing a great job at bringing the Tarawa to X-Plane.
