The team is comprised of elements from the helicopter flight simulation community (both simmers and real pilots) that are helping the team developing the fundamental basis of the flight model.
The sim already comes with 3 helicopters, developed by Milviz and adapted to the software. The Bell 407, CH-47 and MD-530 are available for those already using FlyInside Flight Simulator, although the flight model is not the final one.
FlyInside is working on what they call Heli Flight Model 2.0. This model is still in a very early stage but already has some features implemented. As per the beta notes (transcribed and adapted under permission from the team):
- Support for helicopter auto-rotation, throttle control
- Transverse-flow, flap-back
- Effective Translational Lift (ETL)
- Ground effect
- Additional Control bindings for controlling Propeller Pitch (in anticipation of helicopter flight model)
The path is still long as the team is giving their first steps but it's great news for our community, especially considering they reached out to us in order to help them with this hard and demanding task.
We will surely ear more about this sim during the next few months.
