On a surprise announcement on the Flight Simulator forums, the team has indicated that they are working on the Bell 47 and that we should expect “eye-pleasing modelling, realistic helicopter flight, and systems”.
About the flight model, they add that, “although MSFS does not currently include a helicopter flight model, FlyInside has had one under development for years (for FlyInside Flight Simulator). Our flight model provides an authentic helicopter flight experience, with realistic collective/cyclic response, ground effect, flap-back, transverse flow, torque/yaw, and auto-rotation capabilities”.
The team said that they already have the flight model in Microsoft Flight Simulator.
FlyInside’s Bell 47 will come with a piston engine simulation, with manual throttle control, although there will be also an auto-governor, for those that don’t have (or don’t want to use) a throttle axis.
There is no date of release set yet but the team says they will be able to let us know soon enough.
