Social Sim Network is a simple and easy to use social platform built especially for the flight simulation community. The goal is to gather a lot of resources in the same place and allow users to share their passion under the same, unified roof.

SSN is divided by groups or spaces as it's called in the platform so you can discuss specific subjects such as X-Plane aircraft, scenery or other subjects.

The network is still slowly growing and I suspect we will start seeing a lot more spaces appearing very soon. I also suspect the creator of SSN is an X-Plane fan as these are the main spaces at the moment. Our friends over at Future Game Shop are sponsoring this platform, which is rather nice of them -- kudos, guys -- and kinda gives away the fact that the team behind it do love X-Plane.

Social Sim Network - timeline

The main body of the platform is, just like in Facebook, a timeline, which you can navigate in all the different spaces. You can share links, images and videos (images and videos will be available in the post) so you pretty much have a much simpler, sim-oriented community platform.

Don't get me wrong, though: being simpler doesn't mean it's not good. I kinda like the fact that it's a simple platform. It doesn't distract you from the content.

Do we need another social network? No, we don't. But perhaps we need a better hub for simulation fans to gather around and even get to know other sims. In Facebook you need to search for groups. SSN lets you know what groups exist and allows you to explore them.
