AOA seems to be capitalizing on their experience with the Osprey (a very smart move) and is now developing yet another one of these amazing birds.
While not technically an helicopter (both the Osprey and the AW609 are, technically, airplanes), they fall into a category in-between the fixed and rotary-wing universes where the skills you have acquired as a helicopter pilot will be of much use.
The project is still in a very early stage.
According to a post on their Facebook page:
I'm proud to announce our new project for X-Plane 11: the Leonardo AW609 TiltRotor.
While I will continue to work on the F-35A, Franco, our new team member, who made the external model of the Osprey, will work in parallel with David on this new addon.
The AW609 is aimed at the civil aviation market, in particular VIP customers and offshore oil and gas operators.
Tiltrotor fans will certainly be happy!
