Review: Aerosoft Sahara Desert Fly-in for FSX and P3D

The Sahara desert is the largest hot desert in the world, spreading through over 9 million square kilometers (more than 3.6 million square miles). When I think of it images of hot sand, huge dunes, camels, Bedouins and a huge amount of nothing to do come to my mind. Except for the part covered by Aerosoft Sahara Desert Fly-in, that is.

Review: Aerosoft Antarctica X for FSX and Prepar3D

It's cold, it's windy, it's dry (despite all the snow). It hates you, your family and it will try to bring your aircraft down. But it has penguins, gorgeous white plains and amazing bases for you to fly around. Can it be more fun? Yes, it can, with 3 moving ships that follow a schedule and where you can land at. It's a helicopter pilot's dream.

Review: Cera Sim Bell 212 for FSX

Based on the most charismatic and best known helicopter (the Bell 205), the 212 is one of the most amazing and most used helicopters. Review: Alabeo R66 for FSX

Review: Alabeo R66 for FSX

The R66 is the first turbine-engine helicopter developed by Robinson and a helicopter a lot of virtual pilots would love to have in their hangars. Alabeo decided to give it a go and presented us with a very good looking machine but, as Nick found out, it's not quite up there with the high standards Alabeo usually presents us. Let's hope there's a patch coming soon to fix the issues found.
Review: Paris - Île de France VFR for FSX and Prepar3D

Review: Paris - Île de France VFR for FSX and Prepar3D

The Île-de-France is a region in north-central France which surrounds the nation’s capital, Paris. It is often called Paris - Île de France and, quite often, people think the expression relates to the city and not the region. France VFR recently released their Paris - Île de France scenery for FSX and Prepar3D. It's astonishing.

Displaying FSX aircraft position and instruments on a browser

Using multiple monitors and devices to display aircraft instruments and views it's nothing new and we have been doing it for quite some time. This can become particularly hard, though, if you need to fully customize your panels. As a web developer, I found an easier approach for me, since I am at ease working with web pages and web technology.
Transitional flight: from FSX to DCS

Transitional flight: from FSX to DCS

For the second installment of this series, I gave DCS a try through the Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight module. DCS is well known in the community for being a realistic simulator and the dedicated modules take that a step further. But DCS is, in fact, a whole new beast. In a good way.

Review: Camille Bachmann’s SA-316 Alouette III for FSX and Prepar3D

Every now and then we find a small, hidden project in the freeware community that happens to be a true gem. Camille Backmann's Alouette III is, definitely, one of those gems, and a helicopter that deserves a place in your virtual hangar.
